Doric Chiton

Doric Chiton

This simple garment was worn both in ancient Greece as well as Rome. This dress is thought to be a variation of the peplos and is found on many vase paintings and pieces of sculpture up to the end of the first century A.D.

This dress is pinned at the top (pins NOT included), and can be pulled up to be worn as a shorter skirt. Made from natural cotton muslin, cotton gauze or polycotton fabric. We also offer several lengths of the fold; the measurement from your shoulder to the hem of the top layer of the garment. (12 inch flap shown on lavender chiton) Use a string and measure the string if you don't have a tape measure.

You can also add trim to the top and/or bottom in as many rows as you would like. Trim can be added down the center of the front.

For cool weather, wear over a long or short sleeve Underdress.

Belt not included. Ancient Greek Clothing. Ancient Roman Clothing
